The founder of this family branch, William F., was born in Caroline County, Maryland, in 1811. This late date suggests that he was related to one of the other Maryland P-rr-tt families. Based on Y-DNA results, there are at least 4 different P-rr-tt families that trace back to Maryland. Which of these, if any, William F. comes from is unknown based on the currently known records. A Y-DNA test by one of his descendants could also help determine the origins of this branch.
